Hon Stirling Hinchliffe

The Honorable Stirling Hinchliffe MP, Minister of Racing, Minister of Local Government and Minister of Multicultural Affairs, will be opening the Goldy Rocks Music Festival.

Stirling Hinchliffe is proud to represent the Sandgate electorate in the Queensland Parliament and as a member of the Palaszczuk Labor Government.

Stirling is an experienced community advocate having first served as the State Member for Stafford from September 2006 to March 2012. During his first term, he served as a Parliamentary Secretary in social and economic portfolios. His second term saw his elevation to serve as Minister for Infrastructure and Planning (March 2009 – February 2011) and then Minister for Employment, Skills and Mining (February 2011 – March 2012). As a State Government Minister, he oversaw the development of affordable housing choices, a strong regional plan balancing economic growth and protection of our local environment and delivered employment programs including Skilling Queenslanders for Work.

Stirling lives in Sandgate with his wife Megan and their three children. Prior to his election as the State Member for Sandgate Stirling worked for a training company and has worked in public and private sector jobs and run his own small business. Read more.

Felicity Lawless

Fusing world music and gypsy elements with folk and rock, her sound is characterised by a flashy, Spanish guitar style, soaring vocal melodies and hypnotic rhythms. Joe Tee


Arriving in Melbourne in 1984, Joe Tee has been involved in the music scene since he got here. He now calls Brisbane home, and his music is a beautiful blend of African, Reggae and Calypso. Joe Tee has an infectious presence on stage, and when he starts to dance you will notice the crowd follow!

Musicians like to tell the story of their struggle to do well. They tell it to try to inspire people. Honestly inspiration is not really what I’m after. I hope people can take something from it but really I’m just telling this story because its mine to tell.
